A TOUGH CALL

I recently joined a workshop, in my college- a public speaking course. I was told by my political science teacher, to join the course, which would help me in the long run. Initially, I was extremely happy and curious. But then the wind blew in a different direction. Indeed, it is a very good workshop, organized by experienced people. The only thing, which disappoints me, is the schedule.  HA HA!  I am a lazy girl. As per the time table of my college, “Thursdays and Sundays “, are the non working days. Despite this, I have to attend this course on every Thursdays. This is the month of April, really hot in Calcutta. Under this scorching heat, I have to travel. Tomorrow (10th of April, 2014), I have to make a prepared speech on “Eve Teasing “. From the morning till now, I had to mug up the entire speech, just for inspiring them.   On the other hand, it’s very interesting to note that, I am overcoming my stage fright and now I can face the audience with confidence. The motive is not to win a match, but to learn and experience. So that I can understand my mistakes and know from it.
A tough call is coming at the end of the session, which is the main showcase on 26th of April.  . A show, where all the parents, relatives and friends of each student’s, will come to see our performance.  For the first time, in my life, I am getting an opportunity to take a part in a competition. I am excited as well as tense to face this tough call. I hope, with full confidence, I can give a speech, which would inspire each and every person in the audience. Specially my family and relatives.

Finally I got what I wanted to achieve. The show case went very well and at the end, I got a trophy, for outstanding improvement in public speaking.  My parents and relatives were amazed and since then, I believe that, anything which you want to achieve is easy to get, only if you work hard.
